Temporary veneers may be used while the permanent veneers are being made. During a second visit, the custom veneers will be placed and bonded to the existing teeth. Bonding of the veneer is done with a special adhesive, which holds it firmly on the tooth.

Dental veneers are quite strong however care should be taken to avoiding staining and discoloration. The main culprits for staining are tobacco, tea, and coffee. You may also want to exercise caution in eating very hard foods in order to decrease the possibility of cracking the veneers. Good oral hygiene should be practiced in caring for your veneers.
