Traditional braces involve the use of metal brackets and wires adhered to the surface of the tooth for the duration of treatment which may be multiple years. During a consultation at our Rockville office we will determine if Invisalign or traditional metal braces are the right treatment plan for you. The dentist will take x-rays and impressions of your teeth. If Invisalign is the decided treatment plan, the dentist will use advanced 3-D computer imaging technology to simulate tooth improvement and create a series of clear, custom made aligners. These aligners act like invisible braces and will gradually move your teeth. Each aligner is worn for approximately two weeks and moves teeth in small increments over time. The aligners are worn for about 20 hours a day and are only removed at times to eat and drink or when you are brushing and flossing your teeth.
